Charlston Set Pattern Test

Oh my, this is just the cute hat and cowl set ever.

I was lucky to get to test this Charlston set by ReVe Design Co. facebook.com/revedesignco

The Patterns are easy to follow and easy to work.

They were both a quick project to do with the cowl taking me only 3 hours to do, please note I am a quick Crocheter and the hat took me about 4 hours including the stinking cute pompom. This would have been quicker had I not had to frog some of it as I did a silly mistake and ended up with too many stitches in the round.
I would say that if you decide to make this set that for the hat you need to use a stitch marker to mark the end of the round so that one does not miss the start of the round and start to spiral the work. Thus throwing the stitch count off. Trust me I know, I did it twice.
The Charlston set is easy to work however I would not say it's for a beginner only due to the chainless foundation, the non-chaining round/row starts, and the post stitches. However, if you are wanting to learn these stitches this set is great for it.
As one can start with the cowl as it is worked in rows. This lets you get used to the stitches without the added hassle of working in the round. once you have made the cowl the hat is the next progression increase in learning how to work these stitches in the round.
The hat is quick with the only challenge being the stitch counts.

I really love working on any of Fiona's patterns they are always well-written and all the sts and steps are fully explained, making them great for all crochet levels.

Really happy with how they come out.
Altogether they took me 7 hours all in all to make, yes I crochet fast.
So a good weekend project.
Each took about 200grams of yarn each of worsted weight yarn I used.
worked a size 6mm crochet hook.
I will post again when these patterns are released for purchase with direct links so if you want to you too can have your own Chalston Set ready for winter.

Lots of crafting happiness to you all.
Anne.
